Outcomes, Value & Impact: Metrics for Libraries

Carol French, CEO Market Probe Canada
Picture
Back in 2000 when the public library was first feeling the effects of the Internet Revolution, Carol French, Vice President at Market Probe Canada, was responsible for designing the initial public opinion poll sponsored by the Strategic Directions Council. She has overseen all subsequent waves of that research for the Federation of Ontario Public Libraries, including the most recent iteration fielded earlier this year.

In addition to her 15 years as a research consultant, Carol’s background includes another 15 years of experience working within the electric utility, financial services and telecommunications industries.  During that time, all of these businesses were confronted with regulatory restrictions, a rapidly changing marketplace with intensifying competition, and increasingly sophisticated consumers. The challenges to which she has been exposed in these various settings have provided her with a ‘bottom-line’ business orientation that enables her to provide strategic insights and resolve critical marketing issues in both the business-to-business and consumer arenas.

Carol holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
